Welcome to the Kids’ Table, where you will spend the rest of your holidays and possibly some of your vacation time, as well.
Much like the Hotel California, you can check out of The Kids’ Table any time you like, but you can never leave.
You generally realize there is a Kids’ Table just in time to realize you don’t think you belong there any longer. As in, the day you and your children arrive for Thanksgiving, and you realize you’re at the same table with your cousins, and now your kids are with you. Hmmm. This table didn’t get any larger in the passing time. Where do we all sit?
Once considered a place of shame, now in retrospect, The Kids’ Table is realized (and revered) as the only table that had logical discussions about important topics, and probably had a lot less bickering than some of the other tables. Enjoy.
